Transitioning back to your usual schedule after taking some time off, whether it be for a vacation or other reasons, can be challenging. Today, you will learn strategies to help you get back on track.
The 3 Rs: REGROUP, REFOCUS AND REINTERGRATE
REGROUP:
Get back to the basics
- get back to your usual sleeping patterns
- get back to your usual eating habits
- get back to your usual routine by slowly re-introducing different aspects of your routine (e.g. one or two at a time).
REFOCUS:
- identify what is on your to-do-list.
- determine what needs your immediate attention.
- identify what can wait.
REINTERGRATE:
- take it one step at a time.
- acknowledge and plan for potential challenges.
- take extra rest if need be.
- give yourself some grace.
- remember that you do not have to figure it all out right away. Transitions can take time. EMBRACE YOUR PACE.
